 Take It or Leave It

Lila always wanted to open her own bakery. Her heart came alive at the thought of the sweet aroma of fresh pastries and the laughter of happy customers. Yet, every time she shared her dream, she was met with skepticism.  

“Baking won’t pay the bills,” her uncle scoffed.  

“Do something practical,” her best friend advised.  

“Stick to your office job,” her boss said dismissively.  

For years, Lila allowed their words to weigh her down. She stayed in a job she hated, her passion buried beneath a pile of doubts. But one rainy afternoon, she came across a quote scrawled on a café chalkboard:  

"Take it or leave it—your dreams are only yours to live." 

Something clicked. She realized she had spent her life letting others decide her worth. If she didn’t choose her own path, she would always feel trapped in their expectations.  

That evening, Lila made a choice. She quit her job and began baking from her tiny kitchen. At first, it was terrifying. Not everyone supported her, but for the first time, she didn’t care. She created recipes that brought her joy and sold them at a local market.  

Her business grew, slowly but surely. Customers loved her pastries and came back for more. Lila no longer felt weighed down by doubt—her confidence soared because she was living on her own terms.  

Conclusion

Life is full of voices that will try to define you, but only you can decide who you want to be. Make your own choices before others box you into a life you don’t want. Take it or leave it—because when you choose for yourself, you take back your power.
